Nicollette Sheridan Removes Abuse Claims From $20M Lawsuit
Actress Nicollette Sheridan has removed claims of physical and mental abuse in her $20 million lawsuit against former employer, Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry.
Sheridan sued Touchstone Television Productions, ABC Studios, ABC Entertainment and Cherry back in April in relation to her firing, alleging that Cherry slapped her in the face during a script dispute on September 24.
The lawsuit claimed that Cherry “took her aside and forcefully hit her with his hands across her face and head.”
Sheridan also accused Cherry of “behaving in an extremely abusive and aggressive manner toward the individuals who work on the show.”
ABC said Sheridan’s claims were “without merit.”
RadarOnline.com reports that on Friday Sheridan filed new papers, dropping the most explosive claims from her first filing.
Sheridan dropped the claims of physical injury and emotional distress in papers filed to the Los Angeles Superior Court, reports the website.
As a result of the new filing, Sheridan won’t be forced to undergo a physical and psychological evaluation. Per the agreement, the case will continue without those causes of action.
The star, who was bumped off the show in April 2009, is still suing for wrongful termination and gender discrimination, in addition to other allegations.

Sonakshi tones up for Joker…

Sonakshi Sinha has started toning up for her role in Joker in which she co-stars with Akshay Kumar.
The actress is training under Yasmin Karachiwala at her fitness centre in Bandra.
Yasmin helped Katrina Kaif get in shape for her Shiela Ki Jawani item number in Tees Maar Kha and has in the past worked with Kareena Kapoor, Imran Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Kunal Kapoor.
Sonakshi shed a lot of weight for her role in Dabangg, but remained short of being svelte. Since then she has regained some of her lost weight.

“Sonakshi has to knock off inches for Joker. Her role demands a fit and toned body. She has begun her workouts with Yasmin as preparation for the movie,”
a source tells.
Akshay Kumar who is co-producing the film says it will “be one of the most technically advanced movies made in India.”
“The story moves from a village to NASA and well after that there’s some suspense involved.”
Joker is being directed by Shirish Kunder and is touted as Bollywood’s first 3D action film.

Senate Votes To Repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell!

This is huge. HUGE!!
With a 65-31 vote on Saturday to end the "don't ask, don't tell" policy in the Senate, this is a huge victory in the repeal of DADT.
The bill now moves to the president's desk for the final vote.
If DADT is repealed, it would mean that gays would be openly accepted by the military and could acknowledge their sexual orientation without the fear of being fired.
"I don't care who you love, if you love this country enough to risk your life for it, you shouldn't have to hide who you are. You ought to be able to serve," said Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.)
After the Senate's vote, President Obama said in a statement:
"The Senate has taken an historic step toward ending a policy that undermines our national security while violating the very ideals that our brave men and women in uniform risk their lives to defend."
Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said, "We are on the verge of ending 'don't ask, don't tell' for good."
Repealing DADT will not go into effect immediately. There will be a 60-day waiting period as the Pentagon implements new rules.
This is such a huge victory! Equality for all!

How many times has been this now? One, two, a bajillion??
Randy Quaid's wife, Evi, has missed yet another court date, which means yet another warrant is out for her arrest.
She failed to appear for a probation hearing on Thursday in Santa Barbara as she and her husband remain in Canada. They are seeking asylum from from the "Hollywood star-whackers."
At Thursday's hearing, their lawyer, Robert Sanger, withdrew from the case and declined to comment.
Smart move.
Evi indicated that she didn't want to leave her husband in Canada to go deal with the case in California. She now faces a new $100,000 arrest warrant.
You can't run forever.

Wesley Snipes Files Appeal To The Supreme Court

Even in prison, Wesley Snipes is making sure his voice gets heard!
Attorneys for the actor have filed a new appeal, asking the court to let him out of prison so that he can take his case all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Snipes is asking the Court of Appeals to overturn their decision that ordered him to jail last week. He believes he deserves a new trial because there was an alleged juror bias during his tax evasion case.
Seems pretty ballsy! But, you can't blame him for wanting to fight!
Thoughts??
